macOS 10.15 terminates the operability of some NI legacy hardware. This article provides a workaround to continue the use of MK1 devices on macOS 10.12 (through 10.14). The earlier MK1 versions are therefore not officially supported on macOS 10.12 (or higher). Devices labeled MK2 (or MK3) are later-generation models that run on class-compliant driver technology. MacOS Compatible NI Devices KOMPLETE Audio Interface If you still want to use these legacy devices, you can only do so on a compatible OS. The workaround for macOS 10.12 - 10.14 (as described in this article) does not work on macOS 10.15 or higher.

We strongly recommend to download and install the latest Device Updater from our Drivers & Other Files page in order to avoid possible functionality issues.
Most of the devices listed below offer a Device Updater to update the firmware installed on your device. The earlier MK1 versions are therefore not officially supported on macOS 11 (or higher). If a device is not listed below, this means it is not supported by these macOS systems. These devices do not require a driver installation and work simply by connecting them to the computer. Only current generation class-compliant devices are supported in these macOS systems. We will continue to conduct systematic tests with macOS 13 Ventura to offer full compatibility with our software and hardware products as soon as possible.
